Quantum B on Preparing for Q-Day at Q-Con 2026 in Gdańsk

On 10–11 September, the Quantum B team took part in the Startup Meetup: Quantum & Space and the Q-Con Quantum Conference 2026 in Gdańsk.

The Startup Meetup opened this year’s Q-Con. Paweł Kowalik, Financial & Project Manager at Quantum B, spoke during the Inspire session about Q-Day and the time companies may still have to prepare their products and systems for the post-quantum era.

Q-Day refers to the point at which a cryptographically relevant quantum computer could break some of the cryptographic methods widely used today. This could enable the decryption of confidential information, the impersonation of individuals or institutions, and the undermining of trust in digital signatures.

Paweł also explained what this means for companies that are still developing their products. Building post-quantum security into a product from the design stage can help avoid costly and complex system changes later.

The Q-Con programme also covered practical applications of quantum technologies in cybersecurity, finance, critical infrastructure, dual-use solutions, and space technologies.
