Quantum B at TechConnect 2026

TechConnect 2026, organised by Commerzbank, took place in Łódź on 4 September. The conference brought together experts from finance and IT to discuss digital transformation, new technologies and the future of security in the financial sector.

One of the topics was the impact of quantum computing and artificial intelligence on financial security. The concept for the presentation was developed by Dr Mirek Sopek, founder and CEO of Quantum B and co-founder of MakoLab. The presentation was delivered by Piotr Ignaczak, Chief Technology Officer at MakoLab, who added his own technology and business experience.

The main focus was the Harvest Now, Decrypt Later threat. Encrypted data collected today can be stored and decrypted in the future, when sufficiently powerful quantum computers become available. The financial sector processes information that must remain secure for many years, so this risk needs to be addressed now.

Piotr Ignaczak also discussed post-quantum cryptography and crypto-agility. Crypto-agility allows organisations to change their security mechanisms without rebuilding their entire infrastructure.

Cryptography is one of the invisible but essential foundations of modern banking. The security of transactions and customer data, as well as trust in the financial system, depends on it.

This is one of the areas we work on at Quantum B. Our solutions help organisations identify where and how cryptography is used, assess the related risks and plan the move to new data protection methods. The earlier an organisation understands its cryptographic dependencies, the more time it has to carry out the migration safely.
